Greg Wilfrid is a music teacher and performing musician currently living in West Hartford, CT. For the past eight years, he has performed happily with The Jolly Beggars, a Traditional Celtic folk band with four of his friends.
He released a seven-song album of his original songwriting material, "Dust and Soil." He recorded this album on a farm in South Windsor, CT, with the help of his good friend Sean Rubin. Greg is playing acoustic and electric guitars, piano, synthesizers, banjo, ukuleles, basses, drums, bass drum, shakers, tambourine, pillow, and scissors. Sean and some friends helped out on a couple songs, too.
Greg incorporates his love of folk music and storytelling in his live performances, performing songs from his own songwriting repertoire as well as traditional folk ballads from around the world. He has presented workshops at Music Education conferences at the collegiate, state, regional, and national levels on topics such as incorporating storytelling in the music classroom and choosing quality folk music for the elementary school music classroom.
He teaches elementary school general music, choir, and jazz band in Plainville, CT, where he also directs the Plainville Choral Society.
